The TR Register Car Club is currently seeking two volunteers to fill the highly revered role of Registrar for these models to follow in the footsteps of two extremely long-standing and dedicated volunteers who were both in post for many years.
The volunteer post of Registrar is a key role within the TR Register Car Club and one that requires, above all, dedication and enthusiasm. Registrars are the collectors, keepers and conduit to model-specific information for the wider membership of the Club. They are the people that members turn to for information about the models or to share new findings. Registrars collate this information into a usable form and help members find the information they need. Each registrar shares their latest findings and enquiries through a regular column six times a year in TR Action Magazine.
The ideal person for this role will ultimately be someone who has a massive passion for the models and enjoys collecting and sharing information on them with fellow enthusiasts.
You do not need to be an expert already! Just a hunger to learn and research your favourite model. However, you should enjoy sourcing information, learning, researching, collating data, and then communicating your findings to the membership in an accessible way. You’ll be able to forge contacts within the wider classic car world and the specialist industry for Triumphs to get to the answers you need, or not be averse to spending a little time searching the archives at a museum or library.
The volunteer must have good written communication skills and be IT literate, as all TR Action submissions, correspondence, and records are kept digitally via email, spreadsheets, and cloud-based database systems.
The ideal volunteer will:
Write a 1000-word report for TR Action Magazine for every issue.
Answer enquiries from members on tracing a car's history, build records and ownership records within the membership data.
Answering queries on historical questions from members and letters/articles in TR Action Magazine.
Assist with identifying cars where required.
Keep the TR Register records up to date and continue to work on growing the database of registered cars.
Maintain and grow the TR Register historical archive relating to the model.
Input that data into the office membership system so we can link it to membership data and keep it backed up. This data must then be continually updated.
Research specific questions and subjects relating to your model to grow the collective understanding and knowledge base of the Club for your chosen model.
Further questions and applications for the role may be directed to Mick Forey, Chairman, in the first instance: chair@tr-register.co.uk
