LVG visit De Havilland Museum

Essex Group invited Lea Valley Group to join them for a visit to the De Havilland museum, near London Colney and 4 TR's with 9 LVG members joined in.

The Museum is the site (Salisbury Hall) where the WW11 iconic De Havilland Mosquito was designed and built. The original prototype aircraft is the jewel in the crown of the displays. Two more mosquito's and various other DH aircraft make up the rest of the museum, with various artefacts, collected over the years.

While we were there, Henry Cole and Skid, of Shed & Buried fame, were there filming a sequence around Tiger Moths. We look forward to seeing that programme at some future date. Tony and Mike took the opportunity for a quick chat with Henry, who was most accommodating and very interesting.

Like many museums, you need more than one visit to take it all in and I am sure it will be back on the LVG calendar going forward, but for now it is a massive thank you to Steve and the Essex Group for inviting us to join them.
